our story
Our roots go back to the middle school playground. Remember that place where kids learned the rules of the asphalt? Knees bled, boys learned that girls didn't have cooties, and school yard drama unfolded. Puberty left us feeling awkward, while the coolest of kids rode their bikes off jumps or ollied their skateboards down "four-stairs". Our story starts out on one of these playgrounds - the playground of Yorba Linda Middle School.

It was 2002 when I started what would become ?Billow™. I lacked the athletic ability to be one of the cool kids jumping BMX bikes down in the local dry lakebed or skateboarding around town, but I had the talent of being able to film and edit videos. My friends and I would go out and make skate videos, surf videos, and everything inbetween.
In 2004 I decided I wanted to start a "real" business producing action sports movies; however, at 12 years old gaining capital can be a daunting task. My mother suggested that I start my own clothing line to finance my endeavors and ?Billow™ was created. I taught myself how to design on a pirated copy of Adobe Illustrator and made my first two t-shirt designs.

By 2005 I had my priorities inline: first high school, then business, and anything else could wait. By the end of high school, 2008, I had graduated El Dorado High School as the Associated Body Vice President, trademarked ?Billow™, bought a screen printing machine, but more importantly discovered a future for my business. After realizing that few people in the screen printing industry were focusing on sustainability and saving our precious environment, ?Billow™ decided to offer eco-minded individuals and businesses a 100% sustainable screen printing solution.
Upon entering my collegiate career I learned of the issues of branding for sustainable companies. Sustainable companies may have great products for the environment, but if the customer has no productive use or knowledge of the benefits of the product the brand will struggle. This concept expand across industries; for instance, the health and wellness industry, and any socially-responsible company. I quickly realized how many businesses struggle to maintain the two-way communication necessary in sustainable marketing.
